How It Works

Enter text to convert each character to its NATO phonetic alphabet equivalent (Alfa, Bravo, Charlie…), or paste NATO words to decode back to text. Useful for spelling out strings over phone, radio, or in documentation.

Features

  • Encode mode: convert any text to NATO phonetic words
  • Decode mode: convert NATO words back to text
  • Digits: 0-9 mapped to NATO digit words (Zero, One, Two… Niner)
  • Special characters: non-alphanumeric chars preserved in brackets
  • Spaces: represented as [space] markers for clarity
  • Separator options: space, newline, dash, or comma between words
  • Reference table: full NATO alphabet reference built in
  • Round-trip safe: encode then decode returns the original text
  • 5 examples: Hello, SOS, API Key, Decode, Phone number
  • Private: runs entirely in the browser — no data transmitted
